Whenever the stars align and opportunities present themselves push for the four Glimmering, six Glimmering and eight Glimmering upgrades to your painting skill.Ħ] Rinse, repeat. Never invest funds in the "Paint" option when it pops.ĥ] You will generate Glimmerings via painting too. Never use Passion once you have a solid Mystique flow. Dump it back into your paintings in turn. Disregard police work.Ĥ] You will generate Mystique by the truckload. In my four or five games of experience I've found the most surefire way to make maintainable money goes thusly, step-by-step:ġ] In the early game make sure you invest two Passions into Study for two GlimmeringsĢ] Invest those two Glimmerings into Study for the +1 Passion and more importantly the "Skill: A Wild Imagination"ģ] Start using "Skill: A Wild Imagination" to work. Now I just see the cards as a bunch of timers and resources to churn like it's an RTS where the game doesn't show any rules. I tried an expedition in both games it just keeps GOING AND GOING and asking for more and more and more money, and if you ever stop giving it money, they all just die?! Absurdly punishing when I don't even know what it's going to do for me.Īt first I found the game fascinating, felt like I was experiencing an interesting dynamic story driven by mechanics, but the balancing and pacing just seem needlessly cruel, confusing, and obtuse. If I run out of evidence and suspects, how on earth do I do anything about that?Īnd then if you do the job you get from Reason (the only available career path I could discover), it's just such a ridiculously slow grind to make survivable money. If you stop doing the job for a minute, you're demoted. If you keep doing the job, you run out of evidence to be allowed to keep doing the job. Played two games, first I felt I was doing well, but ultimately lost to a shitty sudden cycle of dread that I had no idea how to stop and then realized in my next go that this game is just a resource grind to survive death nonstop while you hunt and peck for clues on how to even make progress (as all the negative steam reviews attest).Īnyways, second time I tried the police job, and that one doesn't even make sense.
